i miss selling insurance
-Monday, October 23, 2006-

Hello to all.

Using this blog as a chance catch up with our very own teamaxis members and to keep u guys updated about my life as a student right now, as i haven't had the time to interact with each and everyone of you as i once did.

Shall start with my life as an adivsor.

I remember the time when kenneth recruited me. He asked me to meet at paya lebar delifrance. *Didnt drive to my place.. =/* Basket, i remember he looked very smart with cufflinks and tie. *First impression is very important* Must admit i cant help but to feel that he has that kinda expression whereby he wants to cheat me. Nonetheless, his efforts paid off, and i went with him. *Strategic partners Fuji Xerox interviewed me too, they have abundance of pretty girls there! But pity they do not have that special ingredient to convince me they will guide me the correct way.*

I started off with great passion with the job. Doing everything I could to get my very first API case. And boy was it tough. You reap what you sow. How true.

In my 2nd month or so, cases started coming in.

Doing surveys in Changi such a joy to behold! *SIA stewardess, nap.* Whats stopping you? You get the opportunity to converse with them plus if you manage to strike a deal, you get the bucks.*Grace's survey skills is ping ping piang piang!*

Going from shop to shop at shopping centres is like a test for your courage and charm. Pushing yourself into the shop with a smile and then quickly say "Hi, we have a roadshow going on here and blah blah.." Tell them you are from CitiBank and their eyes widen, Tell them youre from Prudential and they go OMG..lol its seriously a game of tactics. Seduce them! *Cles is my sifu! Go ask her*

Ok, but the passion died off a little bit as days passby when i realized that FasTrack is nearing impossible. I started to slack, started to say urgh when its a work day, started to become lazy.

But constant pushing from Team Members such as Luis Seah, Jimmy Tang, Aaron Chua, Clarise Chan, and many others really dig it. Jimmy Tang says things that are really mean. Clarise Chan said if i dun clear I treat fish n co. If i clear, she treat, but even after i clear, i think my fish n co. will only come in my dreams. *hint*

Well, studying in NUS, can be fun. But i have chosen a seemingly wrong route for myself. Being in a course i do not like is definitely not an easy path to walk. Trudging in this path is I tell you harder than selling insurance. Yes, you got to look at other peoples' face when you try sell them something. Yes, you got to bow to people sometimes. Yes, you got to travel to inhumane places and wait hours to meet your clients. BUT, when they put pen to paper and when you CAN see yourself driving a SLK hardtop convertible but your lads, your friends are mostly driving a 1600cc car. Its worth it.

The trees outside there are already half chopped. Its up to you whether you want to chop them down or let others do it. *Kenneth's Confucian words*

Cheers.

*To TeamAxis members who are going for their FasTrack, its possible. =) *
